OPENING TIMES

Welcome to our opening hours! We are open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 3:30 PM. For students enrolled through alternative provision, they can study up to 15 hours per week, utilizing a mix of face-to-face and online sessions to suit your needs. We look forward to supporting your educational journey!

At Heroes Alternate Provision, we support students from KS1 to KS4 by providing a well-rounded educational experience. Our curriculum focuses on core subjects like Maths, English, and Science, offering tailored instruction to meet each student's unique learning needs. By blending academic rigor with practical application, we prepare our students for success in academic journeys and beyond.

KS1, KS2 & KS3

Maths

Maths at Heroes focuses on personalised, engaging lessons to build confidence and understanding in essential mathematical concepts such as arithmetic, fractions, and problem-solving, tailored to meet diverse learning needs and pace.

English

English at Heroes focuses on tailored support for students, enhancing literacy skills through learning plans. Emphasis is on reading comprehension, creative writing, and grammar, ensuring students achieve their full potential in a supportive and adaptive environment.

Science

Science at Heroes focuses on engaging, hands-on learning tailored to individual needs. We cover essential topics like plants, animals, materials, and forces through interactive experiments and projects. Our approach nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for discovery, ensuring every child can achieve their full potential in a supportive, flexible environment.

Physical Education Heroes focuses on promoting physical health, teamwork, and self-confidence. Students engage in a variety of activities, including team sports, individual challenges, and fitness exercises. Emphasis is placed on personal development, encouraging students to set and achieve their own fitness goals while fostering a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.

PSHE and RSE

PSHE and RSE are educational programs designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary for students to manage their lives, now and in the future.

It aims to equip students with the understanding needed to make informed decisions about their physical health, emotional well-being, and social responsibilities.

KS4

Maths

This curriculum is designed to develop students' problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and numerical fluency. The assessment usually involves written exams with various question types, including multiple-choice, short-answer, and problem-solving questions. Success in Maths GCSE is often required for further education and many career paths.

English

The English GCSE is divided into two main subjects: Language and Literature.

English Language focuses on developing students' abilities in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

English Literature involves the study of novels, plays, and poetry from different periods.

Science

The Science GCSE curriculum covers the fundamental concepts of biology, chemistry, and physics. The Physical Education BTEC focuses on the practical and theoretical aspects of sports and exercise. It covers areas such as anatomy and physiology, fitness training, sports psychology, and coaching techniques. The BTEC involves a combination of coursework, practical assessments, and exams.
